Over the past month members of the North East Fire Department have traveled North, East, South and West to every corner of North East Borough and Township collecting donations for the 76th Annual North East Firemen’s Cherry Festival. However we recognize the fact that it is a lot of area to cover in a month and sometimes residents are not home or we simply missed your house. If you find yourself in that group of residents we have one more opportunity for you to stop by and donate!
Starting Monday, June 26 and continuing nightly through Thursday, June 29 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm members will be at Fuller Hose Company #1 (68 South Pearl St. North East, PA 16428) to collect donations while doing some last minute preparations for Cherry Festival. “Every year, the week before Cherry Festival the members wash and wax the fire engines in preparation of the festival and parade.” Said Fuller Hose Company #1 Captain, Matt Skrekla.
Community members are invited to stop by and drop off their donations and pick up the cash raffle tickets. Every dollar you donate, you will receive one raffle ticket good for the nightly cash drawings. Also for sale will be discounted Ride-A-Ramas at $20 per ticket ($25 on the grounds during the festival).

The 76th Annual North East Fire Department Cherry Festival will be held July 5 – 8 this year in Heard Memorial Park (40 North Lake St. North East, PA 16428). The event is free and open to the public. Cherry Festival is the largest joint fundraiser hosted by Fuller Hose Co. #1 and Crescent Hose Co. #2. All monies collected during the festival are used to pay the annual insurance (vehicle and building) premium and ensure the departments have funding to provide fire, rescue and EMS services to the residents, businesses and visitors of North East Borough and Township.
